Michele Greene

MBACP Counsellor & Psychotherapist, Clinical Supervisor

I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor and a registered Member of British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I work within its Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy, which I adhere to so that I provide both an ethical and professional service. I attend regular supervision to ensure that I am able to offer the best to people who use my services. I recognise that we are all unique individuals and by working with an integrative approach means that I tailor the therapy by using different approaches to best suit your needs. I also provide Supervision to Counsellors and Students.

I offer an initial counselling session which is used to explore the possibility of our working together. The relationship between you and your counsellor is at the core of the therapy. We will explore the nature of your present issues or concerns, and will discuss your expectations for your counselling. We will also agree on goals and strategies which may help you to move forward. It may be appropriate to explore past experiences to help provide into current concerns.

Counselling

Counselling is a process that psychologically empowers individuals to seize back control of their lives, whilst working through issues and problems that have caused them to lose self-esteem, as well as confidence in their own abilities. Counselling increases self-awareness and a sense of well-being, and is often the first step individuals take on their path to discovering a more positive life.

Associate Counsellors

Yew Tree Counselling works with a number of independent therapists who offer a range of therapeutic approaches. Because of the Covid-19 pandemic, we do not currently provide a face to face service and our associates are offering online and telephone services. We can make a referral to one of our associates if necessary and provide you with their details.

Our Counsellors, Our Ethics

All our Counsellors adhere to the BACP (British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists) code of ethics for Professional Counsellors. Our Psychosexual and Relationship Therapists adhere to COSRT’s (College of Sexual and Relationship Therapists) code of ethics. All codes of ethics can be found in more detail on the website of each organisation: http://www.bacp.co.uk and http://www.cosrt.org.uk. Our Counsellors carry their own professional liability insurance and all Counsellors and administrative personnel have been DBS checked.
